‼️ The United States and Oman are making strong efforts to keep Iran from collecting tolls in the Strait of Hormuz
♦️ To move Iran away from the decision to collect tolls from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States and Oman have offered to release billions of dollars of Iran's own frozen funds.
However, Iran has directly rejected this proposal. They have insisted that full control of the strait will remain in their hands and strict action will be taken against any ship using unauthorized routes.
♦️ Tehran has set a target of earning about 40 billion dollars a year by collecting tolls, which Washington and the Gulf countries are strongly opposing.
As an alternative to this, although Oman proposed a voluntary international fund to cover the costs of maritime services, Iran also rejected it because the fees would not come directly into their own hands.
