Palestinian youth Nur al-Din Muhammad al-Jamasi, born in 2003, was studying at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary.

The very next day (October 8) after the Gaza war began on October 7, 2023, he abandoned his certain and safe life and higher education and returned to the war-torn Gaza Strip.

Upon returning to Gaza, he joined the Al-Qassam Brigades and began fighting against the Israeli forces.

Nur al-Din's father was a member of Hamas's political bureau. On March 18, 2025, Nur al-Din's entire family fell victim to an Israeli attack.

On October 8, 2025 — exactly two years after returning to Gaza — Nur al-Din was martyred in a face-to-face battle with Israeli forces near the Netzarim Corridor in southern Gaza.
